For Voters Affected by Hurricane Helene
The State Board of Elections has launched a special webpage, NCSBE.gov/Helene, as a source of information for voters affected by the hurricane. The webpage will include important updates, tips for voters affected by the storm, and basic information about voting in this election.
2024 Election Calendar in North Carolina
Oct. 11: Voter registration deadline (5 p.m.).*
Oct. 17: Early voting & same-day registration begin.
Oct. 29: Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.).*
Nov. 2: Early voting & same-day registration end (3 p.m.).
Nov. 5: Election Day (polls open 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
Nov. 5: Absentee ballot return deadline (7:30 p.m.).*
*Voter registration and absentee voting deadlines are different for military and overseas citizen voters.
In this year’s election, voters will be asked to show photo ID when voting in North Carolina.
